Amino Acids

Amino acids are the building blocks which build muscle, repair tissue and are responsible for growth in the body. Athletes and people who participate in exercise and sporting activities have higher amino acid needs than relatively sedentary people.

With so many amino acids out there it can be difficult to know which ones to take. Some such as BCAA's are ideal for helping promote protein synthesis which support muscle growth and reducing muscle soreness, while L-Glutamine is great for helping the body support immune health, digestive health and its anti-catabolic effects (meaning it helps limit muscle breakdown).

On the other hand, Taurine is essential for cardiovascular function, and development and function of skeletal muscle, the retina, and the central nervous system, whilst L-Tyrosine plays a role in the synthesis of neurotransmitters such as Dopamine and Norepinephrine. Beta-analine is a natural amino acid which raises muscle carnosine concentrations.
